Shea butter is commonly recommended for eczema, scars, rashes and those suffering from psoriasis. Shea butter is a gentle moisturizer for baby's tender skin. Applied daily, shea butter is known to help reduce the onslaught of stretch marks in expecting women. It even contains a mild sunscreen. Shea butter is extremely rich, so a little goes a long way.
Why is there a tree on the label? Shea Butter, also known as African Karite butter, comes from the African shea tree, which grows wild along the West African Savannah region. The tree produces fruit from which shea butter is extracted. The finished shea butter is an off white paste. African healers have used it for thousands of years to treat various skin conditions.
